January 30th... The Habitat For Humanity shows were a great success. Look out for a DVD release later this year.
January 30th... A computer glitch meant we lost the last six months of news in updating today. Here's the lowdown on what you're missing:
The Acoustic Set 2005 album was available at C&J shows during 2005, and is now available at Electric Paintbox. The cover can be seen below.
The duo also did two nights in the Liberty Theatre in Hailey Idaho on January 8th and 9th, as a charity fundraiser for Habitat For Humanity to help the Gulf States after Hurricane Rita.
Chad also sent us his season's greetings with a downloadable mp3 file of "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring".
If anyone has my missing news updates saved on their computer, I'd love to have them back. Email me at the usual address.
May 23rd...CONFIRMED 2005 TOUR DATES - more dates are on the way, but these are the current confirmed ones. There will likely be less dates than in 2004, since the duo is spending much of the summer putting their nose to the grindstone to complete the "Now And Then" album.

November 23rd... ACOUSTIC SETS CDS NOW FOR SALE. We're selling off the last of the Acoustic Set CDs on the web, now that the tour is over. They are available at www.electricpaintbox.com for $15 each while supplies last. Remember, this release is a CDR, and comes in a slimline case, sort of like a CD single. So please make sure your player can handle CDRs (just about every player made since about 1990 can). Enjoy!
November 5th... Just as Jeremy got back to London, it begins again! Chad & Jeremy will make their final appearance of 2004 in Hawaii. The duo will appear on Saturday, 12th November at the Blaisdell Arena, Honolulu.
November 5th... From December 4th-17th, Chad will be appearing as Peter Cetera's pianist as during Cetera's promotional tour to promote his new Christmas album. For more info visit Peter's website at www.petercetera.com. Here's a picture of Chad & Jeremy with Peter earlier this year.
November 5th... "Acoustic Set CDs". We planned on selling the left over Acoustic Set CDs starting this week, but because of the last minute trip to Hawaii, we'll be doing it when Chad returns from Hawaii, around the 15th of November. Thank you for your patience, and for making clear that this is a CD that you want.
November 5th... Chad asks everyone to read the following Editorial about one of his students. Please take the time to do what you can for Tyler.
November 5th... Computer errors (probably mine!) resulted in this page being defaulted back to the August update at some point in the last month or so. Below is the stuff that you missed.
October 5th... This from Danne Sumonte, the promoter for the Phillipines gigs: "Oct 15 is a dinner show concert at HARD ROCK CAFE at Glorietta 3 in Makati City (Makati City is part of Metro Manila). The show opens at 9PM with AREA ONE - an acoustic quartet that performs Beatles songs. Jeremy will be reunited with his Acoustic Guitar from the 60s that is proudly on display at this HARD ROCK CAFE. Oct 16 is an acoustic concert at ALIW Theater at the CCP complex in Pasay City(also part of Metro Manila). Opening again is AREA ONE plus special guest RAMON "RJ" JACINTO. On both shows, Chad's daughter Elizabeth will perform a duet with him. We are all excited here since this is their first concert in our country."
September 28th... Chad & Jeremy will appear in the Phillipines in two weeks. On October 16th, they will appear at a thatre, and on October 15th, they will appear at the Hard Rock Cafe in Manilla. This should end their touring activities for 2004.
August 23rd... The Photo Album has had a new page added to it, with photos from the last year or so of reunion activity, and a couple of great vintage shots. The pics have all been sent in by you, the readers, so please if you've got your own photos don't hesistate to share.
August 23rd... Thanks for all your praise of the new CD, and for all of your requests for the "Acoustic Set" to be available via the internet. Because of your requests, we now hope to release the Acoustic Set CD for internet ordering within the next month or so.
August 2nd... Rocshire Available NOW! Finally, after more than a year of preparation and gathering of bonus materials, we are ready to present the rerelease of C&J's 1983 studio album. It includes 10 previously unreleased bonus tracks, and is available now from the Electric Paintbox for $14.95 unsigned, and $19.95 signed.
August 2nd... Online now is a Special Feature called Rocshire Revisited. This feature includes my unedited notes on the Rocshire CD bonus tracks, and infinitely more importantly, THREE UNRELEASED DOWNLOADABLE BONUS BONUS TRACKS. So check out the extras, and read the unedited notes if you get bored during the download! :)
August 2nd... Don't forget that Electric Paintbox is celebrating the release of the 1983 CD with a price reduction on autographed copies of the In Concert CD, available signed for only 19.95.
August 2nd... Here is a large image of the concert tour only CD "The Acoustic Set". The tracklisting can be seen on the New Releases page of this site.
July 28th... The Stamford date of August 21st has been confirmed as cancelled. The date was tied to a planned DVD shoot, and when that didn't go through, neither did the show. Hopefully there will be an alternative date set up for a possible DVD shoot, but there's no further info right now.
July 27th... Jeremy in Climbing Accident!Ok, it's not as dramatic as it sounds, but Jeremy took a spill whilst being adventurous in the wilds of Idaho over the weekend and broke his ankle. For the next six weeks, he'll be on crutches, but they are soldiering on with their current commitments, just as long as Jeremy can sit on a stool! :)
July 27th... Due to my transcription error, the Seattle show has been listed as being on July 29th. It's not, it's August 29th. One month does make a difference, as I doubt Ozzfest and the Pop Rock Reunion have a whole lot of audience crossover! ;) Thanks to Dave Brown for pointing this out!
July 27th... To celebrate the launch of the Rochsire CD, we're temporarily reducing the price of the signed Electric Paintbox CDs. The "In Concert" CD released in 2003, and the Rocshire "Chad And Jeremy" 1983 CD will only cost 19.95 signed, bringing them in line with our prices for signed Sundazed reissues.
July 27th... The Rocshire CD is back from the pressing plant, and is coming out any day now, we're just waiting to finish some boring administrative stuff before it goes on sale. It's been a long wait, but it will be well worth it. Expect it to be orderable by the second week of August at the very latest, late tonight at the very soonest.
July 27th... The 2004 Acoustic Set CD is now available exclusively at C&J shows. This CDR, packaged in a slimline case like a CD single, contains brand new acoustic studio recordings of their tour set, including several otherwise unheard C&J compositions. It is exclusively available at the shows, so that's yet another reason to go to their shows.
July 27th... While C&J have been busy touring away, I've been busy have a bit of a vacation! Now I'm back, with a bunch of news.
May 9th... Updated the gig info in the gig chart below, with the latest info. The Concord gig is a replacement for the one the day after in San Francisco.
May 9th... Updated the gig info in the gig chart below, with the latest info. The Concord gig is a replacement for the one the day after in San Francisco.
April 28th... Go spend money! This week Image Entertainment released THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW Season Four, a 5 disc DVD box set. Included in the set, which retails at $69.99, is C&J's appearance on the classic sitcom. I can recommend the set for any fan of classic TV, it's amazingly remastered and uncut. And one of the episodes has C&J in it!
April 28th... I've received a message from Chad that the CLEVELAND date has been CANCELLED. Sorry about that. Other sources are reporting the following dates:
Akron, OH Lock 3
I've not gotten confirmation yet that it's definitely happening, but lots of you are finding out about gigs way before we are right now, so I'm not surprised. If they aren't appearing there, I'll let you know asap.
April 9th... Chad send the following message about the May 1st gig, for which tickets had unfortunately already been sold:
To all who bought tickets to the Chicago show, my most humble apologies. Jeremy's work visa was not processed in time and there was no way we could appear without incurring the wrath of the I.N.S. The standard apology would employ the words, "Owing to circumstances beyond our control." However,
these circumstances were entirely of our own making.
Despite a six month lead time and repeated reminders from Jeremy and myself, the visa was not taken care of and we ultimately (and very reluctantly) had to cancel our Chicago engagement. To say
we are angry about this would be an understatement. It's the worst kind of way
to re-start our performing career in America.
Once again, sincere apologies from Jeremy and myself and rest assured that our management and agency will never hear the end of this.
Very best regards,
Chad Stuart
April 7th (and again on May 10th)... More changes, due to availability problems. I'll have the venues listed as soon as I can. Here are the most recent confirmed tour dates: (with cancellations in red)
May 1 - Chicago (NOW CANCELLED)
May 22 - Las Vegas, NV Aladdin Hotel and Casino
June 11 - Cleveland (NOW CANCELLED)
June 27 - Portland, OR Amphitheatre At Clark County
July 16 - Concord, CA The Chronicle Pavilion
July 17 - San Francisco (MOVED to 7/16 in Concord)
August 29 - Seattle, WA White River Amphitheatre
August 20 - Uncasville, CT Mohegan Sun Casino
August 21st - Stamford CT
September 25 - Akron, OH - Lock 3 Live Outdoor Amphitheatre (not yet certain)
September 25 - Stamford CT (NOW CANCELLED)
March 20th... I'm happy to confirm that the first date of the 2004 tour will be on May 1st, in Chicago, with another gig confirmed for May 22nd at the Aladdin Theatre in Las Vegas.
March 20th... The 1983 album is all ready to go to the CD pressing plant. In the end, we went with a one disc release, as we've got future plans for the other stuff we dug up. I know you'll love it when it comes out in May.
March 20th... The 60s Pop Rock Reunion special has been airing on PBS stations all over the country since March 1st. If you haven't seen it in your area (or if you want to see it again!) contact your local PBS station and ask for it! We'll have further info on the DVD/CD release shortly.
January 29th... New Album mixing continues. The mammoth task of post-producing C&J's new album, recorded last September, continues apace. The first few rough mixes are done, and Chad contiues to refine and overdub. I can't post any tracks until I get permission, but I can tell you that it is stunning.
This album will blow the 1983 Rocshire album out of the water in terms of the writing quality and the subtle delicacy of the performances. Their vocal blend hasn't sounded this good in, well, ever. I'm going to harrange and harrass until I get permission to give you a sneak preview, hopefully soon. The album should definitely be out in time for the tour.
January 29th... Tour Still On! Like I said below, I've been getting a lot of mail on this, but I can only share with you what I'm allowed to share with you at this point. It looks as if the tour will start in mid-Spring, but it is DEFINITELY happening. The lack of announced dates so far is a result of contractual negotiations and other business-type stuff.
("Yes, "business-type stuff" is a technical term that they taught me at law school!). When I can announce dates I will.
January 29th... Pop Rock Reunion TV/DVD. I've received a lot of e mails recently about what was happening with the tour, and with the Pop Rock Reunion Cleveland show DVD/broadcast. The broadcasts of the Cleveland show have started on PBS. Check your local station for broadcast info. Chad and I have not heard back yet about the DVD's availability, and last we heard it was still not quite finished, but we may be a little behind events. I'll let you know when we hear more definite word.
January 29th... Sorry for what seems to been acute case of asleepatthewheelness. The Rocshire CD didn't make Christmas for a very good reason. There's a distinct possibility of it become the Rocshire CDs. Bob Heinlein, who worked closely with the duo
during the original reunion in the 1980s has turned up a rough quality recording of their audition for the Rocshire record label. This tape was recorded was C&J basically sat on a couch and played the new album to label execs. Bob had the foresight to record the audition, but due to the fact
that it was 1982, the quality is fairly poor, as it was done by pointing a minicassette recorder towards the duo. Regardless of the poor quality of the material, it is a fascinating document of an historic moment, so we want to spend a little time figuring out the best way to get the audition to you. This means further delays for the Rocshire album, in case we want to add it as a bonus disc. I'll let you know once we've made up our minds!
January 29th... Permit me a brief digression from Chad and Jeremy to say that, if you love your family, make sure you tell them. Let me take off my Chad & Jeremy hat to tell you what has happened in Jason's life recently. On December 22nd, I lost my grandmother, Bert Simons of Bartow Florida, to a stroke. She was 85 years old. She was a woman who had
a tremendous impact on my life, a person whose presence was always felt in my family, and whose courage and acumen for straight talk never failed her. I talked to her only a couple of days before she died, and I'm glad the last thing I told her was "I love you". So if you have family out there, make sure that
the last thing you tell them every day is that you love them. You never know when they'll be gone. And Chad, if you don't like the fact that this is up here, you can refund her estate for all those phone bills we've rung up over the last five years! :)
November 18th... RealPlayer Pop Rock Reunion Preview. Here's links for the Pop Rock Reunion Show video promo in high quality, and low quality for people with dialup connections. The best quality clip is the Windows Media Player file I posted yesterday. These clips require the newest version of RealPlayer One.
November 18th... PBS Special debuts in Cleveland on January 24th. Last year's '1960s Pop Rock Reunion' concert, with Chad and Jeremy making their triumphant return to the stage, will debut on PBS in Cleveland in January. It is expected to hit other stations around March. Time-Life is issuing a CD and a DVD of the concert, which should be available beofre March (fingers crossed). We'll probably sell it signed at Electric Paintbox. For a preview movie of the concert (it is pretty high bandwidth, though) click here. The file is in Windows Media viewer.
November 18th... Due to work commitments, Chad will be unable to complete post-production on the new album until early next year. He assures me, however, that it will be out in time for C&J's 2004 Tour, which is expected to start in the early Spring.
November 18th... New Web Exclusive Track Coming Soon... Because the new album won't be available for a few more months, Chad has promised a little something extra for the website soon. It will probably be a live track from their rehearsal shows in August, or it will be a rough mix from the album. Rest assured, once I get it, you'll get it. Chad has also written a new piece for the website which will go online shortly.
November 18th... Roschire 1983 Album still to make it by Christmas! Hopefully, we'll still be able to get the reissue of Chad & Jeremy's 1983 LP out in time for Christmas. THe artwork is done, the album master is done, but we're holding out for a few really special bonus tracks that will make the release just right. If it's not out by Christmas, then the reason why is not (for once) our perpetual laziness, but rather that we want to make sure the release is the definitive document of that era, with the best bonus tracks possible.
November 18th... Jeremy finds his muse. Jeremy had a great time in the USA, working with Chad over August and September.
August 14th... If all goes to plan, there's going to be a brand new STUDIO CHAD AND JEREMY ALBUM! Jeremy is staying in Idaho for the rest of the month so that the duo can not only play a charity gig at the end of the month, but also so that a new studio album, the first in 20 years, can be recorded.
The theme of the album will be a celebration of 40 Years of C&J. Chad says the album will "follow the wedding analogy - something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue". The album will be an unplugged style affair, and will feature acoustic versions of some Chad and Jeremy classics, but the bulk of the album is planned to be comprised of previously unheard compositions.
The "something borrowed" slot at this point will probably be the Beatles' "I'll Be Back", which they recently performed as a part of their live set in Cleveland.
August 14th... Hailey Charity Gig. C&J have returned to Idaho, and everything is going marvelously. The duo has accepted an offer to perform at a charity gig for the Wood River Valley Rotary Club, as part of their effort to raise $100,000 for "Advocates Against Domestic Violence", an organization which establishes half-way houses for victims of domestic abuse. The gig will take place around Labor Day. More details as they are solidified.
August 13th... "It was glorious", says Chad of last night's return to the stage. The duo performed five songs in front of a capacity crowd and, in March, a TV audience, courtesy of PBS. Look for the 1960s concert special to air on your local PBS station in the Spring of 2004.
August 5th... Tickets for the Cleveland gig are still available, and go for between $35 and $75 a pop. UPDATE: TICKETMASTER NOW ONLY LISTS $75 TIX AS STILL AVAILABLE. The gig is at the Cleveland Convention Center's Music Hall, a 2900 seat theatre style venue, and features British Invasion act Herman's Hermits, and others such as Tommy James and the Shondells, Gary Pucket and the Union Gap, The Buckinghams, Paul Revere and the Raiders, and the Grass Roots. The concert is at 7PM a week from today, the 12th of August. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.
August 4th... Here's a treat for everyone, a NEW C&J REHEARSAL TRACK, available to download straight onto your computer. This version of "Editorial" was recorded in mid-June in France as part of the duo's very first rehearsal session in seventeen years. Even after only twenty minutes back together, the duo can be heard in excellent voice in this high quality mp3 track. As part of our occasional Special Features, REUNION, 2003 STYLE! features Chad's day by day account of the recent rehearsals
in Provence, France, which marked the duo's first get together in seventeen years! As well as the brand new exclusive downloadable version of 1967's "Editorial", we've got another of Gered Mankowitz' photos of the duo. Thanks to Gered, and of course to Chad and Jeremy for giving everyone this unprecedented look into their rehearsal process. Because many of you have asked for it, we've decided this time to eschew Real Audio in favor of something you can actually keep on your computer. Feel free to download it and enjoy, but of course don't do anything naughty with it!
August 1st... Chad & Jeremy live in August! On the 12th, a mere two weeks from now, Chad & Jeremy will play part in a special 1960s concert to be filmed by PBS and for possible CD release. The concert is to be held in Cleveland on the 12th, and Jeremy is in America now to finish rehearsals that began last month in France. The duo is currently scheduled to play five tracks. The provisional set list is "Willow Weep For Me", "Yesterday's Gone", the Beatles' "I'll Be Back", "Rest In Peace", and "A Summer Song".
August 1st... "Everything's going great" says Jeremy of the recent C&J reunion, and Chad says the duo sounds "better that we have in twenty years". Find out for yourself with an exclusive downloadable rehearsal version of "Editorial", available right here, with Chad's rehearsal diary.
July 31st... The new CD from Electric Paintbox will be the first CD version of their 1983 LP, Chad Stuart and Jeremy Clyde. We were hoping to sneak this one up on you, and put it out by the end of the summer, but reunion events have taken hold of too much time to possibly get it out until the Fall. We're looking into bonus tracks, trying to get the best sources possible for some amazing demos. Look out for the CD in time for Christmas!
July 31st... KGB and Jeremy's 1986 Diary delayed. Chad's live show from last year, long planned as a CD release, and Jeremy's 1986 Tour Diary book have both been delayed indefinitely while we get the 1983 LP CD out, and while the duo works hard at getting their act together, literally, for upcoming shows. More news on the disc and the book as it happens.
May 26th... On June 7th, Chad is heading to France. Why would Chad head to France, you ask, and why should you care? You should care because he's going to France to rehearse with Jeremy. That's right,
after 17 years apart, C&J will begin making music together again in early June. Ultra-famous, ultra-excellent photographer Gered Mankowitz will be accompanying the duo to France to "take a few snaps", so watch this space!
May 26th... We'd like to thank Gered Mankowitz, the famed photographer and long time friend of Jeremy for the excellent photograph of C&J which now adorns the front page of the website. Also, thanks to our own resident graphic artist Brent Haleen for the groovy "electric" digital manipulation!
April 5th... Chad and Jeremy will be back onstage in 2004! They have agreed to 4 West Coast gigs in 2004, with others possibly forthcoming. Chad talks about recent developments in his most recent Message.
February 14th... Happy Valentine's Day! Available starting today from the Electric Paintbox site (www.electricpaintbox.com) are SIGNED copies of the new "In Concert" live CD. These discs are signed by both Chad and Jeremy, for only $23.95.
January 3rd... THE EAGLE HAS LANDED. NOW AVAILABLE FROM OUR SISTER SITE, www.electricpaintbox.com is the IN CONCERT CD, as well as signed
copies of Sundazed's three C&J discs, and Chad's out-of-print book, THE BALLYMARA FLOOD. VISIT THE PAINTBOX TO ORDER NOW! The shopping cart system is for US orders only. For international orders, please write electricpaintbox@hotmail.com and we'll quote you
the shipping cost based on what you want.
December 28th... The live CDs are back from the plant, and we're now in the process of setting up onine ordering. Give us a week or so, this time I promise! The signed CDs will take a little while, though, because Jeremy's in France!
December 28th... Lightning Strikes Twice! Jeremy has sent in several photos for the photo page, and has written the most recent editorial on the message from C&J page.
November 29th... Just released on the laugh.com comedy label is Phil Hartman's FLAT TV, a comedy album recorded in the late 1970s and produced by Chad. This album has never before been released, and was lost for two decades until Chad recently found a safety master. It's a hillarious LP, and it can be bought from
laugh.com for 16.98. Also check out the Special Features page for a brief article by Chad about his friend Phil.
November 29th... The Live CD will probably now come out around December 15th. It's being pressed right now! There will be unsigned copies available as well as signed ones, which will of course be a little more expensive.
October 31st... On July 29th of 2002, Chad & Jeremy filed a multi-million dollar suit in the supreme court of the
state of New York against Ember records for non-payment of record royalties. Says Chad: "we were supposed to keep getting royalties on our Ember and World Artists material, and we never did. So we've decided to finally do something about it." Fingers crossed we can get some justice, after nearly 40 years of non-payment.
October 23rd... Jeremy has signed the covers for the Sundazed CDs and they are on the way back to us. So we hopefully will be able to open the store for those in a week or so. Chad is still having some troubles remastering the new tape, but still the Live CD should be out before Thanksgiving. I'd like to give thanks to all of you for being so patient with the delays.
October 23rd... Jeremy's quoted extensively in this month's Vanity Fair, as a part of an "oral History of the British Invasion". Thanks to J.R. Wolfe for pointing this out, because Jeremy forgot to mention it to us! :)
September 24th... Two new pictures have been added to the Photo Album, both of Chad eariler this year. They were kindly sent in by Judy. Be sure to take a look!
September 24th... THE NEW (NEW) BULLETIN BOARD. Now online is a different new Bulletin Board, which is much easier to use than our temporary replacement. Its address is http://pub27.ezboard.com/bchadandjeremy. You don't have to be registered or download any software to use it. Enjoy.
September 23rd... A BIT OF A DELAY. For those of you anxiously awaiting the new live CD, it has been delayed until probably mid-November. Remastering the new tape that recently turned up proved too much to do before the deadline, and it's only now ridiculously clear that there's no way it'll come out in time. To make sure we have plenty of time to make the CD as good as humanly possible, we've given ourselves another 6 to 8 weeks to make sure we get it right. Thanks for being patient.
August 25th... Beseen, who hosted our Bulletin Board until mere moments ago, are shutting down those services, so we were left seeking a new one on *very* short notice. Result? The new, slightly more complicated Bulletin Board which is available here. DON"T USE THIS BOARD ANYMORE. IT HAS BEEN SUPERCEDED BY THE ONE ABOVE! THANKS!
August 25th... GOOD NEWS! The In Concert CD will now include "A Summer Song" live as well as a complete "Yesterday's Gone". This doesn't endanger the bonus tracks, just means that now they are that much more of a bonus! At the very last second, a tape of the first show on the final night showed up which is not only a complete tape in higher quality, but the performances are better as well. The only downside of this new tape is it is a mono soundboard, where the previous incomplete tape was stereo.
The trade-off between mono and stereo is well worth it for a better sounding more complete tape of a better show. When you hear how good it is, I'm sure you'll agree.
August 25th... Jeremy's not had a chance to write a message to the site yet. In a new message, Chad has some reasons why...
August 12th... Chad remembers Phil Hartman... Today a new section of the website is launched, with stories, articles, photo
features, and other things that just don't seem to fit on other pages. The first of these Special Features
is a feature written by Chad, recalling his dear friend Phil Hartman (the late Saturday Night Live and News Radio great, who was the younger brother of C&J's 1960s Booking Agent, John Hartman). Included is a rare picture of Phil and Chad recording together in 1979. Between Phil's amazing hairdo and Chad's lifejacket (see the full photo in the article), I don't know
who is worse off, fashionwise. Oh, the 1970s...
On a very silly note, a second Special Feature, this time a photo spread on "The Underwater Chad & Jeremy" has also gone up today.
August 11th... The promised addition of the new songs from the forthcoming In Concert CD to the Lyric Pages
we completed today. Now get a sneak peak at the coming release by reading the lyrics to five previously unpublished C&J songs. Jeremy and writing partner Dave Pierce contribute "Don't Look Back" and "Summer Time - Ain't It Fun"; while
Chad gives the world "All The Harvests", "Farewell Dr. Livingstone", and "This House Is Haunted" (the latter two being big favorites of yours truly, as if you cared). Also added were Dave Edmunds "Generation Rumble" and
"If I Fell" by some Liverpool act. The lyrics page also now includes an alphabetical lyrics index, so you can figure out where that song you're reading the lyrics to first came out!
August 7th... Chad & Jeremy reunited for 2 minutes and 39 seconds! Yes, it's true. In April 2002, Jeremy went into High Note Studios in East End, Newbury, Berkshire (in the UK) to record a vocal for
a remake of "Yesterday's Gone", using a guide track prepared by Chad. In June Chad recorded his own vocal, and did further work
on the song in his home studio in Idaho. This remake will feature as a bonus track on the upcoming In Concert CD (see the other three updates below), alongside
an excellent 1984 recording of "A Summer Song" from Soundstage Recorders in Farnham, Surrey (Surrey, for the benefit of you, dear reader, is in England :)). Whether this recording is a one-off remains to be seen, but it is definitely a sign that they are still interested in recording together. The track will be released on In Concert on September 27th, 2002 - the 39th
Anniversary of the release of the original "Yesterday's Gone". Do you think they should record any future material together? E mail me with your thoughts or post them on the
Bulletin Board and I'll gather them all up and pass them along.
August 7th... Behold the cover art of the forthcoming Chad & Jeremy In Concert CD from ELECTRIC PAINTBOX. The artwork for the
package has been expertly assembled by Brent Haleen, who decided to go for a scrapbook look after literally getting many of the photos from a band
member's scrapbook. It's an excellent piece of work, especially considering the dearth of material from this era. Still not sure who is writing the liners for this one, and we're now looking at a
September 27th release date. Why the delay? We've discovered it's not as easy as you might think, this starting a label from scratch thing, and sending the booklets half-way across the world takes time as well. That, and Chad's moving house, which slows us
all down. Plus, September 27th is the anniversary of Chad & Jeremy's recording debut, "Yesterday's Gone", released on that date in 1963.
August 7th... With the forthcoming release of the new live CD comes a new entry into the Discography. Coming
in the next week or so is the addition of the new songs to the Lyric Pages. When the changes are up, I'll of course
say so here.
August 7th... September 27th is the new launch date for the Electric Paintbox online store. Of course that's the release date of the In Concert CD (all of which will be signed by the duo), but it's also
the date you'll finally be able to purchase signed C&J photos, or copies of Sundazed's excellent "Before and After", "Distant Shores", and "Of Cabbages and Kings" reissues, also signed by both Chad & Jeremy.
Also available on that date will be signed copies of Chad's 1996 children's book, The Ballymara Flood. Jeremy's 1986 Tour Diary has been delayed until 2003, so more time can be spent getting a ton of
supplementary photos and stuff to help tell the story of that tour.
July 30th... Now online at the Photo Album is a
photo of Chad and his daughter Beth, on stage in a one-off performance from earlier this month. This historic concert (the last chance father and daughter
had to perform live before Beth goes off to college next month) was professionally recorded using a 16 track digital recorder, and Chad hopes to mix it and release it on Electric Paintbox some time next year.
July 25th... Work on the Chad & Jeremy Live 1987 disc continues, as we feverishly work to perfect and finish the disc by the end of August. Still looks like we'll make it! I hope to have the cover online the first week of August!
July 24th... Chad & Jeremy's appearance on Batman, for those of you who missed it a while back, is on again on the 5th of August on TV Land. Its new timeslot is 3-4PM, so make sure not to miss it a second go round! Their Dick Van Dyke Show appearance can also be seen on TV Land. Barring schedule changes, it will next be broadcast on October 6th.
July 12th... There is going to be some delay in getting the Electric Paintbox store up and running, specifically for the signed CDs and pictures. There are a lot of reasons for this, mainly all the paperwork the fledgling company needs to file, and the
difficulties of international mail! The end of August, when the Live disc launches, is the new target date for photos and signed CDs.
June 28th... Now online in the photos section, two pictures of the newest Stuart, Graham, and his father James Patrick Stuart (Chad's eldest son and co-star of Andy Richter Controls the Universe).
June 25th... Even amazon.com have now got the new Sundazed discs. Hope everyone enjoys...
June 19th... Sundazed says the delay on the CDs is due to individual retailers not updating their computers, and that copies are being shipped out by various retail outlets as of this week. One emailer (thanks Bill!) tells me that his
local retailer had to get them from Sundazed, as the distributor still claimed they were unavailable last week, and that CD-NOW has
got them in stock and is shipping them now. It seems to CD hasn't actually been pushed back, but it is simply trickling out...
June 18th... According to amazon.com Before and After and Of Cabbages and Kings have apparently been pushed back to the 25th. They are available for ordering through Sundazed though.
June 11th... Another week, another delay for Before and After and Of Cabbages and Kings. These highly awaited discs are now due to come out on the 18th.
June 7th... Last night's TV Land rerun of C&J's December 1966 appearance on Batman cut the last ten seconds of the "press conference" scene in
"The Cat's Meow", which includes the unreleased until June 11th track "Manners Maketh Man" as a musical bed. I have put the
entirety of the song as originally broadcast in 1966 as an audio file on the Sights and Sounds page as a teaser to
next week's CD reissues, and as a way of letting everyone hear Chad's great one liner that is supposed to end the scene!
June 6th... At 7PM, EDT & PDT TV Land will broadcast both parts of C&J's December 1966 appearance on Batman.
June 4th... Sundazed Records to reissue the last two unavailable Columbia LPs. Before and After
and Of Cabbages and Kings are bonus track packed! More details on the New Releases page. UPDATE: According to Amazon.com,
this release has been pushed back one week to June 11th.
May 20th... The website went online, and Chad & Jeremy announced plans for the release of Live at Last! The Official Bootleg,
a CD featuring their final concert from 1987. Details in the Pipeline section.
May 18th... James Patrick Stuart (Chad's eldest son) and his wife Jocelyn brought a brand-new baby boy into the world (actually, Jocelyn did most of the work), making Chad a grandfather.
Congratulations to the Stuarts, and to Chad on their new addition. Mother and child are doing well. The baby will be christened Graham Parker Stuart.
Chad plans to present little Graham with a kilt - the Stuart tartan, of course!
