a message from C&J...
This month, it's Chad's turn.
I can't believe I waited so long to get connected to the internet! (I must've been in a coma
or something.) Fortunately for all concerned, Jason Rhoden, our
illustrious webmaster, made me realize what I was missing. Oh well,
better late than never, as they say. And whoever "they" are, I think
they're right.
Lately I've been thinking about the British Invasion Tour in
1986 and what a pleasure it was to reconnect with so many of our friends
from the sixties.
It was different this time around. Back then, you were babies, but
now you had babies of your own. (Enter Joni singing the Circle Game.) No
seriously folks, it mean't a lot to me. I felt like maybe the whole pop
thing wasn't so trivial after all. Perhaps it was a way for all of us to
come together and . . . and what, exactly? Celebrate life, I think, in
the final analysis. And what else should we be doing, after all? The web
is a timely miracle, enabling us to keep in touch with one another again
after we thought the dream was over.
I'm sorry that Jeremy and I didn't continue performing. I'll
always regret that, but now we have another chance to communicate, and
that's a blessing.
There's a bulletin board on this site. I hope you
will use it. I look forward to reading your messages. There are so many stories to tell in the months and years to come.
Keep smiling,
Chad Stuart
